we are headed to new york in the morning,

for us, it is snowing and snowing and snowing
and we would like to get there without any
problems.....i am sure micah will be on his
best behavior, he always is, but it's a new
adventure for all of us.
(i don't mind the delays and problems on the
way home...just not on the way there... i don't
want our trip to end up shortened)

the race

well, micah seems to do remarkable things on remarkable days ;-)
on the 4th of july he rolled over one way, on the day caleb was
born he rolled over the other way, and now on November 24th,
our anniversary......micah got his first tooth!!
the race was neck and neck, he has started to stand from the
floor to his toy on wheels and then start to reach out for the
couch, and he will also take a few steps with his toy....so,
walking is coming very soon, but those of you who
were in the "tooth boat" WON!! he got his bottom, left,
front tooth this morning :-)

my oh, my

well this morning when i was getting ready for work....i could hear micah working his way into the kitchen....so, i peaked around the corner to check him out....and he was up on his hands and knees (mind you he still army crawls) and i thought, he is trying to crawl on his hands and knees!!!) so i kept watching him and to my horror he was not trying to crawl at all....he was trying to STAND!!!
with his hands on the floor, he was trying his hardest to get his legs in the upright position. pushing and pushing up onto his tip toes......
then he would quickly topel onto his bottom......
oh, the end is drawing near

merry merry merry .......

well, it's official, we will be spending christmas in new york! and it stresses me OUT!! to think about everything we need to take with us.....ugh!! when i was making the reservations, i asked the guy to put us in a row with just two seats, close to the front, so we won't bother others......and then i asked him if micah could sit with someone else :-).....he laughed and said 'sure i will put you in the front row and him in the back row'.....hehehehe

toothless wonder

well, we went back to the dr. on saturday because micah was acting like he still had an ear infection and she checked and his ears look great.....but his upper gums are swollen....he is on his way to his first tooth! the dr said that ear infections and 'teething' can look very similar...that with teething they can have a fever of up to 101 but with the ear infection it will be higher.....
so, we sit and wait that first blessed tooth :-)

mullen

well we made a visit to our friendly dr. mullen last night
and the "toothless wonder" as he called him has a slight ear
infection and sore throught....pretty good seeing how he is now
8 months old and this is his first trip to the dr (for being sick)
and first time on antibiotics!

well i can't figure out how to rotate it so you are just
gonna have to tip your head and enjoy....(if anyone knows
how i can flip it, would you let me know :-)

we come from quiet people....

miguel is not going to be happy that i am sharing this video..... but......... he would "scream" and then micah would "scream", he would, then micah would....over and over all night....needless to say i was not impressed....teaching my son those kinds of things.... ;-)

hot stuff

the past week has been filled with "growing by leaps and bounds"
last week micah learned to army crawl...then he decided that while lounging on his side he could push himself up into a sitting position....and well, if you can sit you don't need to lay for your bath anymore!! Big Boys sit for their baths!! ugh and I didn't think bath time could get any tricky-er

my poor baby boy has gut rot from the new foods...so he is awake all night moaning and groaning with a belly ache...and then on top of it he got my cold...poor little guy is full of boogies, coughing and sneezing...(this is the first time he has been "sick") I knew his perfect health wouldn't last forever! ;-)

i think last night was the fastest bath time ever! micah kept trying to roll over in the bath tub, and then would get upset with me because i wouldn't let him. ah, yes one of the many joys of parenthood :-)

independence

well, the 4th was a celebration of independence at our house...micah rolled over for the first time! first he rolled from his back onto his left side and onto his tummy, then 20 minutes later he rolled to his right side! now he rolls from his back onto his tummy just showing off!! it's so cute!

usually he won't talk to me.....
then i start talking to miguel and micah feels that he needs to talk louder than me.....

so in the videos i talk, trying to get him to start talking :-) because he will be talking his head off and once i get the camera out he shuts right up, so, i am sorry that you have to listen to me talk....i am just trying to get him talking again....

the big 3 0h.....

ugh, yes, it makes me feel old, but I find solace in the fact that EVERYONE around me is older than i am ;-) I just don't feel as mature, successful, responsable, anything....as a 30yr should be.... i don't know, i have a hard time wrapping my head around it!

well, micah went in to see his dr. julie olberding today for his 4 month check up and he is the size and weight of a perfectly healthy 6 month old ;-) he is now 18.8 lbs and 26 3/4 inches (he is in the 95th percentile for both) but all in all he is perfect!
Father son day went well.....although miguel couldn't put micah down all day or he would scream :-) so it was a fun filled day of bonding! but both made it out alive! and miguel's summer schedule will enable him to spend lots of those kind of days with micah too.

well, miguel has the day off work today, so he is hanging out with micah! and i think this is their first full day togather just the two of them :-) so, i can't wait to get home and see how the two of them made out.... now, they have spent the day alone before...but grandma and grandpa usually needed to stop for "some reason or another"
;-) ....and as far as i know there are no plans for that today... i will let you know how it goes!

ugh work

well, we are gearing up for a hopefully bussy senior season at work. but i am not ready for my work schedule to go haywire! the summer will be full of later nights and the fall full of very very early mornings! with micah along for the crazy schedule, poor little guy! praise the Lord he is so laid back! I am sure he will weather the storm just fine....it's a matter of me weathering it or not :-) well, you work when you can...and i am learning to be thankful for the work that comes along!

Memorial

well, we had a pretty good weekend! we had a video conference with everyone in italy
jacob is growing up so fast, edward has a mohawk ;-) sousi was excited to show us her dolls, bana wanted to kiss baby micah, but couldn't throught the computer, and seve was excited to talk to grandpa & grandma!
we had mom and dad over for din din on monday, nothing special, just grilled some steak. mom made the best dessert ever! chocolate cup cakes and strawberries! deLish!
micah was a bit fussy all weekend though....saturday, he didn't go to bed till midnight!! here i am telling everyone he is such a good baby, he goes to bed at 8 every night and sleeps 10 hours....he was making a liar out of me...but last night he went down at 8 and slept till 6:30....he was so cute when i got him up, he was rolled on his side with his hands clasped together under his chin...awwww so sweet! :-)

well, today will be a long, sad day and this weekend the same.
Maria Galarza Maldonado's birthday is today. She would have
been 53 years old. but sadly she passed away on 8-5-09.
I think the family is doing well, but every now and then
something comes up that makes all the pain feel fresh again.
so, if you think of it say a little prayer for them today.

Motor

on micah's carseat there is a puppy that when you pull the string it shakes. so, everyday when we are leaving i put it to his cheek and pull the string, and he just smiles! i love it! well, today he "grabbed it and shoved it into his mouth"!!
holy cow! he has never shown before that he has eye hand cordination! i mean he sucks on his hands all the time, but this is the first day that he put something in his mouth other than his hands! he is growing right before our very eyes!

where o where

well, last night at 1:00 i could hear micah sucking on his hands and cooing a little...i sat up to check it out - i counldn't believe my eyes! he was turned sideways in his crib with his feet hanging through the bars...so, i watched him for a minute and the right foot went back in, the left foot went back in, the left foot came back out, the right foot came back out!! He did this on and on, one out, one out, one in, one in, over and over...i shook miguel, wake up and watch him!, it was the funniest and scariest thing! he is growing right before our very eyes!
then i got him up to change and feed him and while on the changing table he was sucking on his hands and would cock his head all the way back and arch his back with his legs pulled up! HE WAS HALF WAY ROLLED OVER WITHOUT EVEN TRYING!! then he was catching his feet on the wall and just hanging out rolled on his side! i'm not ready for this, where o where is my baby micah!

Cutie Patooties

well, we tried out our cloth diapers this weekend for the first time, and i would say it was more of a failure than a success! Friday when i got home from work, i thought, lets give it a run for the weekend. It started out ok, he had the first one on for an hour and got fussy - he was wet, put a new one on, then he clearly pooed, put another one on. Then he was down for the count- his usual 10 hours through the night- and when he woke up UGH!! he was SO wet he was dripping from his ears!! change the mattress pad, sheets, cloths, diaper..... it was saturday morning and the laundry was piling up quickly! It went well on saturday, he wore a few dispos... Sunday I think we went through 3 outfits! at one point I put a clean diaper on him and put him on the couch for some tummy time and picked him up 10 minutes later to see that he peed through the diaper, cloths, blanket and onto the couch! and at that point we were on our 20th cloth diaper!
so for me, I am not a big fan of the cloth diaper, not only do i have to now wash poo out of the diaper to wash them, and my laundry has increased not only because of the diapers themselfs but also because he is peeing on his cloths too!! grrr more work!
